How to Adequately Clean up Vertical Lines on Copies

You need to clean your Copy or Scanner adequately in order to eliminate vertical lines whenever you copy, scan or even fax your documents.

  • Begin by lifting up the document cover.
  • Then proceed to clean the four parts of your model printer: the ADF glass strip, the flat-bed glass, and the two white pads.
  • Take a soft cloth and dip it in a glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. Then, proceed and clean the thin glass strip thoroughly.
  • Proceed and clean the flat-bed glass gently. Do not press down hard.
  • Now clean the two white pads above the ADF glass strip and the flat-bed glass.
  • Run your fingertip over the ADF glass to check for debris. If you feel debris, concentrate your cleaning on that spot. Dirt on that spot is responsible for vertical lines.
  • Now close the document cover.
  • If your Copy is a duplex scanner, open the ADF cover to clean the Scanner glass and the white pad inside, then close the ADF cover.
  • Finish up by making a copy. If the lines are still present, then additional cleaning may still be used to remove all debris.
